30 Day Cosplay Challenge: Day 19: What is your worst cosplay memory?
Waking up Friday morning of Otakon 2008 to realize my pants for my costume were split right down the middle. It took forever to find needle & thread, and I missed the panel I wanted to go to making repairs. :(
The next day, my boyfriend’s costume’s pants split.
30 Day Cosplay Challenge: Day 18: What is your best cosplay memory?
Participating, on a whim, in the Phoenix Wright Musical @ Animazement 2009 as Apollo Justice. It was a small part, I didn’t have any lines, and Gumshoe tried to arrest me at one point hahaha, but it was a boatload of fun and the AA community I met that day were total bros.
Tied with this is just Otakon 2010 in general. No drama, met a ton of awesome people/reconnected with awesome people. It just was so so so much fun.
I literally never do this shit and promise I won’t ever do it again, but could you please signal boost this across the internet. I want to go to Dragon*Con and I want to take my best friend and this is the only way that can happen.
I’m a budding videographer and photographer and this was literally my first ever work. It isn’t the greatest, but I promise I really deserve your vote.
30 Day Cosplay Challenge: Day 15: Your least favourite thing about cosplay.
When people take credit for things they didn’t make. It’s essentially art theft. I don’t care if you bought/commissioned your costume. Just don’t say you made it when someone else put their time into it. :/
I start next week, I’m so excited. I’ll be working on setting up installations in the gallery, managing the blog, and overall just helping run the gallery. Plus, since it’s only a few days a week, I still have time to work on things like cosplay/personal art/take some classes on things I can’t study while in school.
So if you’re in the DC area/visting the DC area, come visit the gallery! We’re in Silver Spring. It’s not big, but there’s some really cool prints to be seen. :]
30 Day Cosplay Challenge: Day 13: Your cosplay specialty (ie. something that seems to apply to a large amount of your cosplays, it could be a specific series, or a common feature in their appearance, such as glasses)
Vests. I have so many cosplays that involve vests… And I’m okay with this. :D Also, costumes that involve COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF BUTTONS HOLY CRAP—
As of recently I’ve also been picking cosplays that involve more prop & accessory-work that the actual costume.
30 Day Cosplay Challenge: Day 12: Your cosplay idol.
I don’t really have any “idols” per say, but I do have a long, long list of inspirations. It’d be really hard to name them all. D: Maybe once this challenge is over I’ll do a big “Follow Friday” of some sort and make a long list.
